Activity is regulated by MICU1 and MICU2 that stimulate and inhibit MCU activity, respectively. Regulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion in pancreatic beta-cells by regulating mitochondrial calcium uptake. Involved in buffering the amplitude of systolic calcium rises in cardiomyocytes. |
