本试剂盒采用双抗体夹心酶联免疫吸附法定量检测人Growth Hormone。人Growth Hormone/GH试剂盒仅供科学研究，不用于临床诊断。在人和其它动物中， 生长激素 (GH)可刺激生长、细胞繁殖和细胞再生。 因此它对人体发育很重要。 生长激素是一种应激激素，可提高葡萄糖和游离脂肪酸的浓度。它还能促进 IGF-1 的产生。生长激素过剩最常见的疾病是垂体瘤。 生长激素缺失产生的影响因年龄而异。对于小孩， 生长停滞和身材矮小是生长激素缺失的主要表现， 通常是由于遗传因素和先天畸形。它也能导致性成熟推迟。在成年人中，生长激素缺失是很少见的，最常见的原因是脑垂体瘤， 其它原因包括儿童时期生长激素缺失的延续、 其它的结构损伤或创伤以及极其罕见的特发性生长激素缺乏症 (GHD)。
