The epidermis is the superficial structure of the skin, composed of multiple layers of flattened epithelium. From the basal layer to the surface, it can be divided into five layers, namely, the basal layer, the spine layer, the granular layer, the transparent layer and the corneum layer. The upper layer of the skin provides a protective barrier against the external environment. Keratosis occurs in the basal layer of the epidermis. After the programmed death of the epithelium, the cells produce keratosis and move to the epidermis.
