| Target Background | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in differentiated layers of the mucosal and esophageal epithelia with family member KRT13. Mutations in these genes have been associated with White Sponge Nevus, characterized by oral, esophageal, and anal leukoplakia. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13. |

文献和实验。常用的抗体有： ①单克隆小鼠抗人细胞角蛋白(Monoclonal mouse anti human cytokeratin)克隆为MNF116。 该抗体应用范围，各类的冰冻切片，涂片，细胞培养 片和经甲醛固定石蜡包埋的组织切片 。用本抗体检测的阳性组织有：鳞状上皮，甲状腺滤泡上皮消化道上皮，胰腺胆管上皮，肝胆管上皮，角膜上皮等以及发生于上述来源的肿瘤。应该注意的是有一些肿瘤在检测时，可出现两种阳性物，即用两种抗体来检测如采用CK和Vimentin，可出现双向表达阳性的肿瘤
