Description 
Polyclonal Antibody against PEN2 N-Terminal Form Antiserum Host Rabbit Species Reactivity Human Specificity PEN2 (N-term) Polyclonal AntibodyThe gamma secretase is a multiprotein complex consisting of presenilin, nicastrin, Aph-1 and Pen-2; all four proteins are necessary for full proteolytic activity. The gamma secretase complex catalyzes cleavage of a number of integral membrane proteins including Amyloid precursor protein, Notch, Erb4 and E-cadherin.
Pen-2 is a protein of 101 amino acid length that traverses the membrane twice, with both its C- and N- terminal domains facing the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum and is required for endoproteolysis of presenilin and activation of the gamma secretase.
This antibody, UD-1, was raised against the N-terminal residues of Pen-2 and recognizes the residues ERVSNEEKLNL of Pen-2.Uses This antibody is effective in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation. Notes * Predicted MW = 12 kD ** Endogenous Pen-2 can only be IPd under conditions disrupting the gamma secretase complex (e.g. in the presence of NP-40, Triton , etc). Under CHAPSO conditions, the epitope for UD-1 is hidden with the complex. Storage Store at -80°C. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working aliquots and store at -80°C.
