This product is sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or in-vivo use.Clone OR017.720 Form Purified Antibody (in PBS + 0.03% thimersal) Host Mouse Species Reactivity Rat IsoType IgG2b [Ab] mAKAP (OR017.120) Monoclonal Antibody 1 mg/mL Specificity mAKAP (muscle A-kinase anchoring protein) is a scaffold protein located at the nuclear envelope of myocytes, where it is complexed with cAMP-dependent protein kinase A, the ryanodine receptor calcium release channel, phosphodiesterase type 4D3, and protein phospatase 2A. Discreet localization of this complex is believed to be important for specific transduction of cAMP- and calcium-dependent signaling events in these cells. mAKAP protein is targeted to the nuclear envelop via a spectrin repeat domain that binds to similar sequences on nesprin-1alpha protein, also located at the nuclear envelope.
This antibody was raised against a recombinant fragment of rat mAKAP 1286-1833 and then purified via protein-A chromatography. Subsequent experiments showed that it binds an epitope between amino acids 1400-1500.Uses This antibody is effective in immunoblotting, immunofluorescence (IF) and immunoprecipitation (IP).
