ENO1 / Enolase 1 / alpha-enolase specific IgG was purified by Human ENO1 / Enolase 1 / alpha-enolase affinity chromatography.
ENO1 / Enolase 1 / alpha-enolase抗体 Background
ENO1 (Enolase 1), more commonly known as alpha-enolase (ENOA), is a metabolic enzyme involved in the synthesis of pyruvate. ENO1 also acts as a plasminogen receptor and thus mediates activation of plasmin and extracellular matrix degradation. The essential role of ENO1 in putative plastid phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) provision for anabolic processes within plastids, such as the shikimate pathway. The disease-related roles of ENO1 are mostly attributed to its immunogenic capacity, DNA-binding ability and plasmin (ogen) receptor function, which are significantly affected by its three-dimensional structure and surface properties, rather than its enzymatic activity. In tumor cells, ENO1 is upregulated and supports anaerobic proliferation (Warburg effect), it is expressed at the cell surface, where it promotes cancer invasion, and is subjected to a specific array of post-translational modifications, namely acetylation, methylation and phosphorylation. Both ENO1 overexpression and its post-translational modifications could be of diagnostic and prognostic value in cancer.
