Inhibin beta A / INHBA抗体 Background
Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of biological processes, such as hypothalamic, pituitary and gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins/activins are homo or hetero dimers linked by one or more disulfide bonds. Inhibin A/B is a dimer of alpha and beta-A or beta-B, while Activin A/B/AB is a homodimer of beta-A and beta-B, or a heterodimer of beta-A and beta-B, respectively. Mouse inhibin beta A chain (INHBA), also known as activin beta A chain, together with INHBB, are closely related TGF-beta superfamily members. INHBA overexpression may promote cell proliferation and showed a significantly higher expression in tumors than in normal tissues. INHBA may be suggested as a promising prognostic marker of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
