应用
IPTG通常用于需要诱导β-半乳糖苷酶活性的克隆程序。它与 X-Gal 或 Bluo-Gal 一起用于重组细菌菌落的蓝白斑筛选，其诱导 lac 操纵子在大肠杆菌中的表达。IPTG 通过与 lacI 阻遏物结合，并改变其构象起作用，其阻止 β-半乳糖苷酶编码基因 lacZ 的阻遏作用。
