Ponceau S is a classic visible red protein dye. It is commonly used during western blotting for easy visual inspection of protein transfer to PVDF and nitrocellulose membranes.
- Stains proteins on membranes pink or light red
- Limit of detection of about 250 ng of transferred protein
- Reversible and compatible with subsequent western blotting
- Solution contains 0.1% Ponceau S (w/v) and 5% acetic acid
Ponceau S staining is fast, easy and does not interfere with downstream western blotting. However, it is not very sensitive and staining can be uneven. To measure transferred protein quantitatively in fluorescent western blotting, we recommend the VersaBlot™ Total Protein Normalization Kits. For safe and sensitive staining of proteins in gels, we recommend our One-Step Protein Gel Stains.

扎培克氏溶液 Czapek ’ s solution 指用于培养真菌特别是霉菌所用的基础合成培养基（ J ． Czapek ， 1901 ）。其组成为蔗糖 30 克、 NaN0 3 2 克、 KH 2 PO 4 1 克、 MgSO 4 · 7 HO 2 0.5 克、 KCl 0.5 克、 FeSO 4 0.01 克。水 1000 毫升。（若配制固体培养基时，则加入琼脂 20 克）
为使青蛙或其他变血脊椎动物的离体神经肌肉、心脏等长期接近正常存活状态所使用的溶液，为林格（S． Ringer）氏的蛙心灌流实验最初配制的生理盐溶液。与血清具有同样的离子组成、渗透压和 pH（ 7.2— 7.3），作为浸渍液和灌流液被广泛应用于生理学实验中。现在使用的多为稍改变的林任氏液。另外任氏溶液一词也有作为体液代用液的总称来使用的。
