Application: Pefachrome C1E, a highly sensitive chromogenic substrate for C1-esterase, is used for the determination of C1-esterase inhibitor (C1INH) in plasma. C1INH is a regulatory protein that acts as an inhibitor of various serine proteases in the complement system, the kallikrein-kinin system, the coagulation cascade and in fibrinolysis.
