SHC3 is involved in the signal transduction pathways ofneurotrophin-activated Trk receptors in cortical neurons. SHC3 can bind activated TrkB receptorfollowing the stimulation with brain-derived neurotrophic factor , which is the most abundantneurotrophin in the brain.
