During manufacturing, host cell DNA released from lysed cells must be effectively cleared through downstream purification to ensure product safety. Residual human DNA poses theoretical risks including oncogenicity (particularly due to the presence of adenoviral E1 sequences in HEK293) and immunogenicity.
