Product Information
KE00567 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355. The assay recognizes human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355. An antibody specific for human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355 is added to detect the captured human/mouse/rat CRTAM/CD355 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Cytotoxic and regulatory T-cell molecule (CRTAM, also known as CD355) has been characterized as an important activation marker for both CD8+ T cells and NK-T cells. Engagement of CRTAM promotes cytotoxic effects of NK cells towards Necl-2 expressing tumor cells. Coligation of TCR and CRTAM on CD8+ T cells causes interferon-c (IFN-c) secretion in vitro. Aside from the presence in cells of the immune system and its immunological functions, CRTAM is also involved in cell-cell adhesion due to its expression in epithelial cells and has a role in the transcytosis of neural stem cells across brain vascular endothelial cells.
