3-硫代TDA是14碳饱和脂肪酸肉豆蔻酸的类似物，其中C-3碳已被硫醚键中的硫取代。长期给大鼠服用3-硫代TDA可作为过氧化物酶体诱导剂（PPAR配体），增加脂肪酸氧化，并降低血浆脂质水平。在大鼠的饮食方案中加入150和300mg/kg的3-硫代TDA可诱导通过.DELTA.9-去饱和酶形成油酸，并剂量依赖性地增加.DELTA.9-去饱和酶mRNA水平。
