The plasmid has a T7-lacO promoter system, under the induction of IPTG or lactose and its analogs, T7 RNA polymerase initiates the transcription and translation of the mouse FASN fatty acid synthase gene. This plasmid carries a Twin-Strep tag at the N-terminus of the FASN gene and an 8×His tag at the C-terminus of the FASN gene, which facilitates subsequent detection, purification, and localization studies of the expressed protein.
