In Hela cells, localizes at centromeres throughout prophase until metaphase and disappears at anaphase. Centromeric localization requires the presence of BUB1 and AUKRB. |

Essential for recruiting KIF2C to the inner centromere and for correcting defective kinetochore attachments. |
