RNA-binding protein 39 (RBM39) is a multifunctional protein involved in the regulation of RNA processing, including splicing, stability, transport, and translation. It is known to interact with various RNA molecules, influencing alternative splicing and the expression of target genes. RBM39 plays a key role in the regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level and is important for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function. RBM39 has been implicated in several cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation, differentiation, and stress responses, as well as in various disease contexts, including cancer. Dysregulation of RBM39 has been associated with tumorigenesis and resistance to certain chemotherapies. Because of its involvement in RNA metabolism, it is considered a potential therapeutic target for developing new treatments in diseases characterized by splicing defects or aberrant RNA processing.
