F-box only protein 38 (FBXO38) is a member of the F-box protein family, which is known for its role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, a pathway that regulates protein degradation within the cell. FBXO38 contains an F-box domain, a key feature that allows it to interact with the SCF (Skp1-Cullin-F-box) complex, which targets specific proteins for ubiquitination. By mediating the recognition and degradation of target proteins, FBXO38 helps regulate various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, and cellular stress responses.
