钙测量对于许多生物学研究至关重要。在结合钙时显示光谱响应的荧光探针使研究人员能够通过使用荧光显微镜、流式细胞术、荧光光谱和荧光酶标仪来研究细胞内游离钙浓度的变化。可以使用显微注射等方式，用这些葡聚糖缀合的钙指示剂的不透细胞盐形式对细胞进行物理加载。使用荧光显微镜检测来自这些细胞的荧光信号。与AM 酯形式相比，我们的钙指示剂的葡聚糖形式表现出更少的渗漏。在荧光钙指示剂葡聚糖偶联物中，Cal-590L 葡聚糖偶联物可能是比其他红色荧光葡聚糖偶联物更好的选择，因为它具有更高的荧光量子产率和更高的荧光。 Cal-590L 葡聚糖的 Kd ~230 uM。
