Description ：SH2D1A, also known as SAP, is a small adaptor protein which plays a major role in thebidirectional stimulation of T and B cells. SH2D1A is predominantly expressed in T cells and NKcells, and functions to regulate signal transduction pathways downstream of the SLAM family ofsurface receptors. The SH2D1A gene is frequently mutated in patients with X-linkedlymphoproliferative disease. Malfunction of the SLAM-SAP pathway results in autoimmunediseases, tumors of the lymphoid tissues and inadequate responses to infectious agents.
