Thermo Scientific Pierce 发色内毒素定量试剂盒是一种高灵敏度的终点测定试剂盒，可使用变形细胞裂解物测定试剂盒准确测量并检测蛋白、肽、核酸或抗体样品中的内毒素（脂多糖）。该试剂盒可在 0.01–0.1 EU/mL 至 0.1–1.0 EU/mL 的两个线性灵敏度范围内进行检测。

Pierce 发色内毒素定量试剂盒的特点和优势包括：

Pierce 发色内毒素定量试剂盒是一种基于变形细胞裂解物法的终点内毒素检测测定试剂盒，可通过内毒素与在鲎循环变形细胞中发现的酶原因子 C 相互作用来测量内毒素。该酶的蛋白水解活性是在革兰氏阴性菌（如大肠杆菌）外细胞膜上出现脂多糖（内毒素）的情况下活化的。内毒素水平是通过测定因子 C 在存在合成肽底物时的活性而测定的，其在蛋白水解后会释放 p-硝基ben胺 (pNA)，可产生黄色，可以在 405 nm 的吸光度下测定。

用来源于大肠杆菌菌株 O 的已知浓度的已包括内毒素标准品准确测定样品中的内毒素水平111：B4。测定内毒素水平对于评估内毒素去除方法的效率十分重要，可防止组织培养细胞和注射内毒素污染蛋白的动物产生毒性休克、炎症和/或败血症。
