Product Description Interleukin 6 (IL-6), which was originally identified as a B-cell differentiation factor, is now known to be a multifunctional cytokine that regulates the immune response, hematopoiesis, the acute phase response, and inflammation.IL-6is a pleiotropic, alpha -helical, 22-28 kDa phosphorylated and variably glycosylated cytokine that plays important roles in the acute phase reaction, inflammation, hematopoiesis, bone metabolism, and cancer progression. Mature human IL-6 is 183 amino acids (aa) in length and shares 39% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat IL-6. It also induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth. And it is a pleiotropic cytokine that not only affects the immune system, but also acts in other biological systems and many physiological events in various organs. In a target cell, IL-6 can simultaneously generate functionally distinct or sometimes contradictory signals through its receptor complex, IL-6Ralpha and gp130. Product Properties
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity
> 97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Biological Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of IL-6-dependent murine 7TD1 cells is less than 0.02 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5 × 107 IU/mg. Fully biologically active when compared to standard.
Endotoxin
< 1.0 EUper 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in 30 mM Acetic Acid, pH 3.0, 150 mM NaCl, 5% Trehalose, 0.02% Tween-20.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20°C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Shipping and Storage The products are shipped with ice pack and can be stored at -20℃ for 1 year. 1 month, 2 to 8 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, -20 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities when first usedand avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Cautions 1.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 2.For your safety and health, please wear lab coats and disposable gloves for operation. 3.For research use only. HB221031
