Scientist/Senior Scientist/Research Director

Novo Nordisk China R&D center is an integrated part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D organization focusing on the discovery and development of new treatments for cancer, inflammation, and haemostasis disorders. Building on its extensive expertise in protein expression and purification, NNST actively identify and validate novel drug targets in the areas of cancer immunology and inflammatory diseases. We are now announcing new scientist positions and are seeking for highly motivated scientists who plan to advance their career in China:
Position 1: Research Director of Protein Chemistry dept
Responsibility:
Lead a protein chemistry group for purification and characterization of various proteins to support therapeutic protein drug research, and for identification of new drug targets and drug candidates for immunotherapy against inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Immunology or Protein Chemistry
A solid theoretical basis and good track record in protein chemistry, e.g., protein modification, engineering, purification, characterization and assay development
>3-5 years (post Ph.D. study) hands-on experience with numerous purification protocols for a large variety of proteins from E.coli and mammalian cells
Experience in immunology and/or inflammatory disease research is a plus
Excellent communication skills in English
Knowledge of scale-up protein purification processes and protein drug development programs in general
Industrial experience outside of China
Management experience
Position 2: Scientist/Senior Scientist in Protein Chemistry
Responsibility:
The incumbent will purify and characterize various proteins at laboratory to pilot scale to support therapeutic protein drug R&D.
This individual will be involved broadly in the Oncology and Inflammatory disease Programs and responsible for the discovery of new or improved therapeutic proteins or antibodies.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in biochemistry or other life sciences with 2-5 years post doctorate research.
A good track record of research in the fields of biochemistry, immunology, inflammation, and/or cancer biology.
A thorough understanding and solid hands-on experience on protein engineering, expression, refolding, purification, characterization and assay development.
Working experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment, MALDI TOF mass spectrometry, and molecular biology is a plus. Knowledge of protein drug development would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English, flexibility and the desire to work within a multidisciplinary team are also required.
Position 3: Senior Scientist in Molecular Biology
Responsibility:
Apply research expertise to contribute novel treatment development for inflammatory disorders and cancer. This involves identification, evaluation and validation of new targets as well as optimization of drug candidates aiming at rapid transfer of high-quality anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor proteins from research into the preclinical pipeline.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a relevant biological science with 2-5 years post-doctoral experience
A good track record of research in the field of molecular immunology, inflammation, and cancer research.
A thorough understanding and solid hands-on experience with recombinant protein expression systems, protein characterization and assay development.
Experience with mAb engineering is a plus
Industrial experience is preferred
Excellent communication skills in English, flexibility and the desire to work within a multidisciplinary team are required.
Position 4: Scientist in Cell Biology
Responsibility:
Using cell biology and immunology expertise to actively participate and contribute to the novel drug R&D for the treatment of inflammatory disorders and cancer.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or relevant biological science
A solid theoretical background and a good track record in various areas mentioned above
>2 years of postdoctoral experience is preferred
Knowledge within general cell biology and recombinant expression of mammalian proteins
Experience in immunology and/or inflammatory disease research is a plus
Industrial experience is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Easy-going, hard-working, and collaborative
