Cinchona alkaloids and derivatives thereof, obtained by dedicated structural modifications, have a long tradition in various stereochemical methods. Among them, their stereoselective ion-pairing capabilities for acidic compounds have been exploited for capillary electrophoretic enantiomer separations of chiral acids (1 –14 ).
