前期I的第四个阶段，此期染色体长度进一步变短，联会复合体因发生去组装而逐渐消失，紧密配对的同源染色体相互分开，而在非姊妹染色单体之间的某些部位上，可见其相互间有接触点，称为交叉(chiasma)。
