营养动态理论 trophic dynamics 指生态系统中围绕物质以至能量代谢等各种问题进行分析和研究的分支领域。原来通过食物链联系起来的群落内的关系，可根据物质代谢和能量代谢来掌握，以分析其演替及其他群落的动态，这是作为生态学观点之一。是由 G． E． Hulchiuson和 R． L． Lindeman （ 1942）提出的。能流在生态系统内不进行循环，是一次性的，在进行测定时，是以共同的单位来进行处理。第二次世界大战后不久，曾偏重于能流方面的研究，但嗣后再着眼于物质循环的研究，已成为生态系统生态学的中心观点。
