持续时间为1/8— 1/4秒的一种脑电波成分。把频率为 4— 8赫芝的脑电波节律称为θ节律（θ rhyt-hm）。它与δ波一样，在正常人睡眠时出现，若觉醒时出现与α波同样程度的振幅，则属于不正常现象。但青年女性有时在觉醒时可看到低振幅的θ波。儿童在觉醒期间，特别是在不快、沮丧状态或从睡眠中觉醒过来时等情况下也可看到θ波。
