在同一寄生内同时存在两种以上原寄生者（ pri－ mary parasite）的现象就称为多寄生。该词主要用于捕食寄生者。这里有两种情况，一是两种以上的寄生者能够同时完成其发育；另是在寄主体内寄生者相互间进行竞争，最终仅留下一种。
