        鸟氨酸 ornithine

        H2 NCH2 CH2 CH2 CH（ NH2 ） COOH，是一种碱性氨基酸。虽在蛋白质中不能找到，但存在于短杆菌酪肽、短杆菌肽 S等的抗菌性肽中，另外从深山紫堇根中发现了δ -N-乙酰鸟氨酸。是由精氨酸为碱或精氨酸酶作用分解生成。作为尿素循环的一部分与尿素生成相关，在代谢上具有重要的作用。在生物体内与精氨酸、谷氨酸、脯氨酸能相互转变，可与α -酮酸、乙醛酸进行氨基转移，在鸟氨酸脱羟酶作用下脱羧而生成胺（丁二胺），丁二胺能进一步合成至多胺。在鸟类中它与 2分子的苯甲酸或苯乙酸等结合成鸟尿酸的形式起解毒作用。
