　　胸 breast 脊椎动物躯干前部的具有前肢被肋骨包围的部分。尤其在哺乳类以横膈膜与腹部分界，其它脊椎动物境界不明。爬行类以上肋骨发达，它与肋间肌和胸骨共同形成胸廓。无脊椎动物中节肢动物次生地出现可以分出头部与腹部的中间部，称为胸部（ thorax）甲壳类胸部各节原则上有 1对附肢，软甲类有 8个胸节，某些甲壳类以及蜘蛛类，全部胸节或二、三节与头部愈合形成头胸部。昆虫类胸部 3个体节即由前胸、中胸、后胸形成。大部分昆虫各节有 1对足，有翅昆虫的中胸与后胸各有 1对翅，这些有翅的节总称有翅胸节（ pterothorax），在蜂类称为具翅胸（ alitr-uncus），甲壳类的胸部专称前胸（ pereion）。
