饮水中枢 drinking center 破坏丘脑下部外侧区的一部分时，发生不饮水的现象；电刺激此部位时，则发生饮水过多现象。此外，用高渗溶液注入此部位时可出现饮水行为，发现此部位有发出脉冲的神经元，称此部位为饮水中枢，其与摄食中枢是有区别的。
