茄（Solanum melongena）

又称茄子。双子叶植物，茄科。1年生草本或亚灌木，茎直立、有分枝，幼枝、叶、花梗及花萼均被星状绒毛，叶互生，卵形或椭圆形，边缘波状。花单生于叶腋，花后下垂。萼片有小皮剌。花冠淡紫色或白色，雄蕊 5枚，生于花冠筒喉部，子房圆形，柱头浅裂。浆果，萼宿存，性喜温暖，原产亚洲热带，我国各地都有栽培，嫩果供食用，为夏季主要蔬菜之一。根可药用，能祛风、散寒、止痛。
