acetone add 6mls Aminopropyltriethoxysilane solution (Sigma A-3648). b) Dip slides into silane solution for 10 seconds. c) Wash 2 x briefly in distilled water. d) Dry overnight at 37°C in a dust-free environment.
In situ hybridisation to alpha satellite sequences (chromosome specific)
. After 2 days fixation the slides are rinsed in H2 O and allowed to air dry. Store dry, dust-free. Paraffin sections. Take 6m m sections onto APES treated slides (see below) and bake overnight at 60C. Dewax in Xylene, 2 x 5 minutes. Then immerse as follows
