英文名:Squalene
描述:Squalene (AddaVax) is a natural organic compound originally obtained for commercial purposes primarily from shark liver oil, though there are botanical sources as well, including rice bran, wheat germ, and olives. All higher organisms produce squalene, including humans. Squalene is an intermediate product in the synthesis of cholesterol and shows several pharmacological properties such as hypolipidemic, hepatoprotective, cardioprotective, antioxidant, and antitoxicant activity.

文献和实验又称菠菜烯（ spinacene）。是非环式三萜之一。于 1916年，由迁本满丸发现。大量存在于鲨鱼肝油中。在橄榄油、小麦胚油，米糠油、酵母等中也含有少量角鲨烯。它是胆甾醇或三萜的生物合成的重要中间物质。是一种无色油，吸氧后会变得粘稠。
最初认为角鲨烯氧化闭环而生成具有羟基的甾体核反应是一步反应，将催化这种反应的酶称为角鲨烯羟化酶，称为角鲨烯氧化环化酶（squalene oxido-cyclase）。实际上是二步反应。第一步反应是由单加氧酶（ squalene monooxygenase EC 1． 14． 99． 7也称为角鲨烯环氧酶）所催化，使角鲨烯氧化成 2， 3-氧化角鲨烯。该酶作为底物除需要角鲨烯外，还需 NADPH的一种加氧酶。第二步反应是由 2， 3-氧化角鲨烯 -羊毛甾醇环化酶（ 2， 3-oxidos
