产品活性：Aminopterin (4-Aminofolic acid)，叶酸的 4-氨基衍生物，是叶酸 (folic acid) 拮抗剂。Aminopterin 催化叶酸还原为四氢叶酸，Aminopterin 竞争性抑制二氢叶酸还原酶 (DHFR)，Ki 值为 3.7 pM。Aminopterin 具有抗癌和免疫抑制活性。Aminopterin 用于研究儿童白血病。

文献和实验又称 4-氨基蝶酰谷氨酸（ 4－ amino pteroylglu－ tamic acid）。系叶酸的衍生物，也是其代谢的抑制剂。在许多生长体系中显示生长抑制作用，但直接的抑制部位或许是二氢叶酸还原酶，因此推断它可抑制核酸合成。这时即使存在叶酸也常不能阻止其抑制作用。这被认为是由于抑制剂对酶的亲和力特别高的缘故。氨基蝶呤可用于治疗白血病。
HAT系次黄嘌呤（ hypoxantin）、氨基蝶呤（ aminopterin）和胸腺嘧啶脱氧核苷（ thymidin）三种物质各英文首字之缀列， HAT培养基也就是指含有这三种物质的细胞培养基。对具有合成 DNA原料的核苷酸的形成上，在细胞内具有起始合成途径（ de novo pathway）和中间合成途径（ salvage pa-thway）。由于氨基蝶呤可阻碍起始合成途径，所以培养基中含有它时，细胞便只有中间合成途径，所以必须供给核苷酸。至于缺失中间合成途径的细胞，可失去增殖能力臻
