白细胞介素 1β（IL-1β）也称为分解蛋白，是白细胞介素 1 细胞因
子家族的成员。IL-1β前体被半胱天冬酶 1（白细胞介素 1β转化酶）切割。
胞质硫醇蛋白酶裂解产物形成成熟的 IL-1β。白细胞介素 1 α和白细胞介
素 1β形成 IL-1β。IL-1β由活化的巨噬细胞作为前蛋白产生，其被半胱天
冬酶 1 (CASP1/ICE) 蛋白水解加工成活性形式。 这种细胞因子是炎症
反应的重要介质，参与多种细胞活动，包括细胞增殖、分化和凋亡。 发
现这种细胞因子在中枢神经系统(CNS)中对环氧合酶 2 (PTGS2/COX2)
的诱导会导致炎症性疼痛超敏反应。IL-1β基因和其他 8 个白细胞介素 1
家族基因在 2 号染色体上形成一个细胞因子基因簇。
