    INTRODUCTION

    GTPase, IMAP Family Member 5 (GIMAP5) is a part of the GTP-binding superfamily and the immuno-associated nucleotide subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. GIMAP5 is an antiapoptotic protein which is required for mitochondrial integrity and T-cell survival. Polymorphisms in GIMAP5 are related with systemic lupus erythematosus. Read-through transcription can be found between GIMAP5 and the neiGH-Boring upstream GIMAP1 (GTPase, IMAP family member 1) gene. GIMAP5 also contributes to T-cell quiescence.

    DESCRIPTION

    GIMAP5 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 307 amino acids (1-284) and having a molecular mass of 34.4 kDa.
    GIMAP5 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

    Escherichia Coli.

    PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

    Sterile Filtered colorless solution.

    FORMULATION

    The GIMAP5 solution (0.25mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.2M NaCl, 40% glycerol and 2mM DTT.

    STABILITY

    Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
    For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
    Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

    PURITY

    Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
