在动物体内活细胞能直接从血液或周围组织获得所需要的营养。细胞培养基主要由无机盐、糖(能量来源)、维生素、氨基酸等组成体。普遍使用的培养基添加剂如胎牛血清、次黄嘌呤和胸腺嘧啶核苷混合物(HT)、BSA等。
HAT Media Supplement(50×)即HAT培养基添加剂，是次黄嘌呤、氨基蝶呤、胸腺嘧啶核苷的混合物，适用于杂交瘤选择和细胞培养。
