| Function | Constant region of immunoglobulin light chains. Immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies, are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, the membrane-bound immunoglobulins serve as receptors which, upon binding of a specific antigen, trigger the clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into immunoglobulins-secreting plasma cells. Secreted immunoglobulins mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, which results in the elimination of bound antigens (PubMed:22158414, PubMed:20176268). The antigen binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain, together with that of its associated light chain. Thus, each immunoglobulin has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The variable domains are assembled by a process called V-(D)-J rearrangement and can then be subjected to somatic hypermutations which, after exposure to antigen and selection, allow affinity maturation for a particular antigen (PubMed:17576170, PubMed:20176268). |

多是多克隆；而小鼠来源的抗体多是单克隆，但也有另外。这条主要要与后面的二抗来源相匹配。（3）实验目的是检测什么种属的抗原，即species reactivity。这一点很重要，一般说明书上都有注明，如小鼠Ms、大鼠Rat、人Hum等等。（4）能否做免疫组化。一般一抗说明书都会注明做WB、IHC、ICC、IF等，建议最好选择注明的抗体，因为一般都是经过文章证明。（5）检测标本类型。用于检测石蜡切片还是冰冻切片，一般能做石蜡切片的抗体，可能都可以用来检测冰冻切片，但能做冰冻切片的抗体，不一定能检测石蜡
