产品概述:Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) belongs to the class III of the intermediate filament (IF) proteins highly specific to astrocytes which function as nerve cells in the brain and in the central nervous system (CNS) (1-2). Two other class III IF proteins, nestin and vimentin, dominate in immature astrocytes, while GFAP is most abundant in mature astrocytes (3). GFAP is used as a marker to distinguish astrocytes form other glial cells during development. Mutations in GFAP cause Alexander disease, a rare disorder of the CNS. Most frequent mutations are located at Arginine 79 or 239 (4).
靶点/蛋白:A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in the C-term of human GFAP was used as immunogen.
