关于COQ7：
Ubiquinone Biosynthesis Protein COQ7 Homolog (COQ7) is a mitochondrion inner membrane and peripheral membrane protein which belongs to the COQ7 family. It is expressed dominantly in heart and skeletal muscle. COQ7 is synthesized as a preprotein that is imported into the mitochondrial matrix, where the sequence is cleaved off and the mature protein becomes loosely associated with the inner membrane. COQ7 is involved in lifespan determination in ubiquinone-independent manner and also involved in ubiquinone biosynthesis. COQ7 is potential central metabolic regulator. Human COQ7 protein contains 179 amino acids, is mostly helical, and contains an alpha-helical membrane insertion. It has been shown that mutations in the gene are associated with increased life span. Defects of the gene slow down a variety of developmental and physiological processes, including the cell cycle, embryogenesis, post-embryonic growth, rhythmic behaviors and aging.

As the rate-controlling enzyme in glycolysis, PKM2, has also been found to be expressed in embryonic, proliferating, and tumor cells, and it has been considered to be crucial for the metabolism and growth of tumor cells. Recent studies have shown that PKM2 promotes cell proliferation and suppresses cell apoptosis in various tumors. Human Chemokine (C-C Motif) Ligand 23 (CCL23) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. CCL23 is also known as myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor MPIF-1, CK8 and SCYA23. CCL23 cDNA encodes a 120 amino acid residue precursor protein with a putative 21 amino acid residue signal peptide that is cleaved to generate a 99 amino acid residue mature CCL23 (amino acids 22 -120). Additional N-terminal Processing of the 99 amino acid residue variant can generate a 75 amino acid residue peptide (amino acid 46-120) that is significantly more active than the 99 amino acid residue variant. CCL23 binds to CCR1 with high affinity and has chemotactic activity for monocytes, dendritic cells, and osteoclast precursors. CCL23 enhances angiogenesis of endothelial cells, but reduces the proliferation of progenitor cells giving rise to granulocyte and monocyte lineages.

Mouse Legumain,also known as LGMN, is a cysteine protease belonging to peptidase family C13 and is expressed in kidney and placenta abundantly. LGMN has a strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. It can also cleave aspartyl bonds slowly, especially under acidic conditions. The mammalian legumain is involved in the processing of proteins for MHC class II antigen presentation in the lysosomal/endosomal system. It plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation via its role in EGFR degradation. Legumain deficiency causes the accumulation of pro-Cathepsins B, H and L, another group of lysosomal cysteine proteases. Overexpression of Legumain in tumors is significant for invasion/metastasis. Mammalian legumain is inhibited by iodoacetamide and maleimides. Legumain activation appears to be autocatalytic and can be triggered by acidic pH.
