一般描述
(EDTA)是一种多元酸，用作金属螯合剂。由4个羧基和2个氨基组成，孤对电子可螯合钙等多种金属离子。
应用
已用于：
使股骨脱钙，用于骨软骨组织的组织处理和染色
作为NH4Cl裂解缓冲液组分，用于红细胞裂解和整体鉴定
分离小鼠结缔组织隐窝
生化/生理作用
(EDTA)可治疗重金属离子中毒患者。EDTA可抑制金属蛋白酶活性位点的锌离子，也可抑制其他金属离子依赖性蛋白酶，如钙依赖性半胱氨酸蛋白酶。EDTA可能会干扰金属依赖性生物学过程。EDTA可抑制血小板聚集，并且是血小板计数最常用的抗凝剂。EDTA可联合其他活性试剂抑制微生物和生物膜，例如柠檬酸、醇、抗生素、聚六亚甲基双胍(PHMB)季铵等消毒剂。EDTA可用作血液学检验的抗凝剂，稳定血细胞的细胞组分和形态。
(EDTA)用于消除痕量重金属对酶的抑制作用，并抑制需要二价阳离子作为辅因子的酶。
