This product is sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or in-vivo use.Form Antiserum Host Guinea Pig Species Reactivity BACE1 GP45 C-Terminal Guinea Pig Polyclonal AntibodyHuman, Mouse, Rat Specificity Processing of the β-amyloid precursor protein (βAPP) by two endopeptidases, β and γ secretases generates the amyloidogenic peptide Aβ, a major factor in the etiology of Alzheimers disease. The beta secretase is a novel membrane bound aspartyl protease and cleaves the βAPP to generate the N-terminus of the Aβ domain. The membrane bound C-terminal fragment generated by the beta secretase cut is subsequently cleaved by the gamma secretase resulting in the generation and secretion of the Aβ.
The GP45 was raised in guinea pig against a peptide sequence CLRQQHDDFADDISLLK , the C-terminal 17 amino acids of the human BACE1 and recognizes the mature and immature forms of BACE.Uses This antibody is effective in immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation (IP) and immunofluorescence (IF). Suggested Working Dilution The optimal working dilution should be determined for each specific assay condition. - Western blot: 1:1,000
