    Product Overview

    The Stemgent® Phycoerythrin (PE) Rat anti-Human SSEA-3 Antibody was screened on human embryonic stem (ES) cells using flow cytometry (FC) and selected as the best stem cell-verified PE conjugated anti-SSEA-3 antibody available for identifying, characterizing, and monitoring pluripotency of human ES cells. The MC-631 monoclonal antibody binds to stage-specific embryonic antigen-3 (SSEA-3), a carbohydrate epitope on the major ganglioside, which is present at specific stages during mouse preimplantation embryogenesis. SSEA-3 is expressed on the surface of human teratocarcinoma cells, human embryonic germ (EG) cells, and human ES cells. SSEA-3 is a widely accepted pluripotency marker for human ES cells and is downregulated upon differentiation1-3.

    Preparation This antibody is purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated PE and unlabeled antibody.
    Storage Store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Light sensitive.
    Stability Stable for 6 months from date of receipt when stored as directed.
    Quality Control Tested by flow cytometry.
