    Detection of SLC12A5 (KCC2)+ cellsClone REAL1126 is an antibody fragment derived from the full SLC12A5 (KCC2) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity | Clone REAL1126 recognizes SLC12A5 (KCC2), a neuron-specific membrane protein expressed throughout the central nervous system, including the hippocampus, hypothalamus, brainstem, and motoneurons of the ventral spinal cord. It is a critical mediator of synaptic inhibition, cellular protection against excitotoxicity and may also act as a modulator of neuroplasticity. SLC12A5 mediates electroneutral potassium-chloride cotransport in mature neurons and is required for neuronal Cl- homeostasis. It is involved in the regulation of dendritic spine formation and maturation. KCC2 deficiency might play a role in the pathogenesis human epilepsy. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). |
