The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL1097 recognizes the human CD3 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein, also known as Leu4. CD3 is present on mature human T cells and related neoplasms, thymocytes, a subset of NK cells, and on Purkinje cells in cerebellum. The CD3 antigen is a complex of five invariable chains: γ, δ, ε, ζ, and η. It is associated with the T cell receptor (TCR) and is responsible for its signal transduction. Activation and proliferation of T cells can be induced by interaction of the T cell receptor with peptide-MHC complexes expressed on the surface of APCs. The T cell receives a signal transduced through the CD3 complex. Cytokines or other costimulatory signals are required in addition. Activated T cells can be used for any downstream processes, such as cytokine analysis or immunoprecipitation.
