Description Purified Monoclonal Antibody against Prion Protein, 4B4

This product is sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or in-vivo use.Clone 4B4 Form Tissue Culture Supernatant (in PBS; no preservatives or carrier proteins) Host Mouse Species Reactivity Sheep, Feline, Rabbit IsoType Prion (4B4) Monoclonal Antibody, Purified (SIGNET)IgG1 [Ab] 1 mg/mL Specificity Signet’s prion antibody, clone 4B4 recognizes sheep, feline, and rabbit PrP. The epitope site appears to be non-linear (discontinuous). This antibody recognizes both the cellular (protease sensitive) and infectious (protease resistant) isoforms of PrP. Reaction with the protease resistant isoform requires protein denaturation. Uses This antibody is effective in immunoblotting, immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and ELISA. Suggested Working Dilution The optimal working dilution should be determined for each specific assay condition. - Western blot: 1:10,000-1:20,000
- IF: 1:200-1:500
- IHC: 1:500-1:1,000
Pretreatment: The epitope must be re-exposed in fixed tissue by pretreatment of tissue using one of the following procedures:
1. 70% Formic acid for 10-30 minutes at room temperature
2. Hydrolytic autoclaving

Storage Prion (4B4) Monoclonal Antibody, Purified (SIGNET)Do not store antibody diluted below 50 ug/mL in the absence of protein (i.e.: add 2% bovine serum albumin).
