Mouse anti Human CD49b antibody, clone AK7 recognizes the integrin alpha 2 subunit, a ~160 kDa glycoprotein that non-covalently associates with the ~130 kDa integrin beta 1 subunit to form the VLA-2 complex.
CD49b is expressed by platelets, long term cultivated T cells, approximately 50% of monocytes and most adherent cell lines.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

- 1 Clone AK7 has been reported to work in functional assays, Bio-Rad recommend the use of MCA743EL for this purpose.
- 2The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Bio-Rad recommends the use of * fixation for frozen sections.
Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
