Rabbit anti Human H2A.X (pTyr142) antibody recognizes histone H2A.X when phosphorylated at tyrosine 142.
Histone H2A.X is a member of the histone H2A family, one of the four core histones making up the nucleosome core particle. Histone H2A variant H2A.X is a variant of histone H2A that regulates the interaction of MDC1 (mediator of DNA damage checkpoint protein 1), a DNA repair protein, to the sites of DNA damage. Phosphorylation of histone H2A.X at tyrosine 142 is implicated in a number of biological processes, including DNA repair. K-Ras-ERK1/2 down-regulates phosphorylation of H2A.X at the site of tyrosine 142 by increasing degradation of WSTF and contributes to the progression of gastric cancer (Dong et al. 2019).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
